Taybeh

Taybeh means delicious.  Taybeh brewery follows the ancient brewing laws and is therefore highly dependent on imported ingredients.  Water is one of them.  It is almost unbelievable that the standard policy of the Israeli occupation is restricting the Palestinians to water just 2 days a week.  So all Palestinian residents and business must fill all their water reserves and conserve during the week.  Illegal Israeli settlements have water 24/7.

Taybeh is a dwindling Christian village on a hill northeast of Jerusalem of 1300 inhabitants.  30 years ago 3400 lived there.  We visited a historical cave dwelling of the middle ages.  The animals lived in the lower floor of the cave below the family.

We also visited Taybeh's Latin Parish where Sisters of "La Sainte Croix de Jerusalem"
offered us tea and the opportunity to support the local crafts people.  Their mission is an International Appeal to Pray for Peace in the Holy Lands with Peace Lamps
